Training
The Training Council is responsible for developing a variety of training opportunities that ensure members are equipped with the skills necessary to fulfill the organization’s mission. Trainings topics range from a personal development to leadership and are designed to interest members at their respective phases in family, work and JLM membership. Trainings are also delivered in virtual and in-person formats to reduce barriers to participation. Popular training sessions offered include:
- Canva (Beginner to Advanced)
- Chat GPT Demystified
- How to Delegate in the Workplace
- How to Invest in the Stock Market
- JLM Pizza and Policies
- Developing Your Personal Brand
- Managing (& Embracing!) Conflict in the Workplace & Beyond
- Fitness on the Lawn: Spin and Flow
In support of the leadership focus set by the President and Executive Vice President, the Training Council determines the leadership development strategy and creates training opportunities specific to the needs of JLM leadership. Topics covered in league leadership trainings include league operations, communications, policies, bylaws, inclusive leadership, member experience and more. Trainings may also equip leaders with principles like cultural competencies and DEIB to apply when working with the diverse communities that JLM serves.
The Training Council operates in an advisory/support role to leadership development events offered to non-JLM members. These events include Develop H.E.R. Women’s Summit, APEX and LEAD (Leaders Evolving And Developing).
